Alliance is part of the solution to the Climate Change problem through the transportion of cleaner burning natural gas fuel to Canadian and US markets using modern pipeline technology. Alliance has been awarded the "Gold Champion" level reporter recognition certificate for our Climate Change Action Plan. Alliance Pipeline is a strong supporter of voluntary measures as a means of achieving Canada's greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction goals. This commitment began early in the design phase of the project and was carried through in our regulatory applications and during consultation with environmental stakeholders.
The Action Plan forms the initial baseline on which further greenhouse gas emission management programs will be assessed and implemented. Alliance will track its performance against this Action Plan and will continue to inventory greenhouse gas emissions and look for ways to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions.
